From a small software team to an international "key player"

KRATZER AUTOMATION AG will celebrate its 30th year of existence next year. Since the establishment of the company in 1980 with a software team of three persons, it has become an internationally active company with over 200 employees. All three business sectors of KRATZER AUTOMATION are on the road to success today: The company is market leader in test beds for turbocharger development and ranks among the foremost suppliers of Manufacturing Execution Systems (MES) and Transport Management Systems (TMS).

KRATZER AUTOMATION was founded in 1980 by Gerhard Kratzer and Paul Balz as "Gerhard Kratzer GmbH, Automatisierungstechnik München". Right from the beginning the company produced industrial, process-oriented software. At the beginning of the 90s KRATZER AUTOMATION developed from a pure software company to a solution provider with comprehensive service and supply capabilities including consultation, implementation and maintenance through to financing. In 1999 the company was established as a "family oriented" joint-stock company, with employees, executives and founder families as shareholders. The number of employees, being active in Europe and Asia at eight locations, has grown continually over 3 decades and now totals more than 200. The three business sectors of KRATZER AUTOMATION today support companies in the automotive industry, electronics manufacturing and logistics industry in delivering  more efficient operational processes.

"The people at our customers and suppliers are the center of our family business, not to mention the employees!" says company's founder and CEO Gerhard Kratzer on the occasion of the forthcoming anniversary. "Their creativity, power of innovation and involvement has written the success story KRATZER AUTOMATION. Our common vision is technically and economically oriented: We want to make our customers more successful and boost their competitiveness with 'software for efficient processes'."
