"KRATZER AUTOMATION is one of the world's leading suppliers of turnkey test systems for the automotive industry. Since 2004, the focus has been on sustainable vehicle concepts such as hybrid or electric drives, battery and fuel cell technology. With the expansion of PAtools TX, we offer our customers highly precise, safe test solutions that can be effortlessly integrated into the existing IT landscape for the efficient development of new vehicle drives," Ramona Frenkel, Head of Product Management.
A new addition to the product range is a software application for testing fuel cell stacks and systems from a single cell to a complete fuel cell system in 24/7 operation. The application includes the standard interfaces common to PAtools TX, allowing unlimited integration of electronic loads and measurement devices such as potentiostats and EIS meters. Adaptations are possible at any time and the test bench solutions can be adapted to new requirements and interfaces at the customer's site for years to come. The user-oriented interface guarantees ease of use and comprehensive customization options, for example, an individual working environment for each user.
The determined polarization curves and predefined or individually created test cycles enable the characterization and optimization of PEM fuel cells in stability, performance, and degradation tests according to DoF, FCH JU, EHTP. This includes the integration of different data such as driving profiles and the storage of measurement data in all important file formats. The simulation of controlled systems for the effective adaptation of control parameters in the software application as well as the test bench and test item simulation for HiL, SiL, MiL applications including residual bus simulation for control units of fuel cell systems are also covered.
Visual cell stress monitoring is performed by displaying bar graphs for cell-specific characterization. Special examinations such as contamination with harmful gases in concentrations up to 1 ppb are controlled automatically via the software application.
Customer Matlab / Simulink models, as well as C/C++ source code, can be easily integrated into the software application using Dynamically Shared Objects (DSO) and expand the possibilities of integrable test solutions. Even in unattended operation, safe handling of the test bench is ensured by constant monitoring and integrated safety functions.
